Queen Elizabeth II’s Birthday & National Tea Day!
Well guys, you now have an excuse to drink as much tea as you want! That’s right, it’s National Tea Drinking Day. Every year on the 21st April, us British honour our tea day (after all, it is all our nation drinks!) Whether it’s English Breakfast or Earl Grey, it isn’t really important. It’s tea time! That’s what’s important.
A tea break for us designers is very, very important. Every sip gives us a real warm, comforting taste and if you are at work it gives you a nice, little break from staring at type on the glaring computer screen. As us designers most often get frustrated with the work were doing; we often just save it, have a cuppa and then go back when our heads can hack it! A good brew will solve any problem for you.
You could ask anyone, when you think of Britain you think of two things: Tea and The Queen. It’s apt that they both get celebrated on the same day. Any excuse! When we envisage the Queen today, we are instantly reminded of her love of bright block colours. Queen Elizabeth II absolutely loves design, when it comes to fashion she has an artist’s love of colour. “I know of no single formula for success. But over the years I have observed that some attributes of leadership are universal and are often about finding new ways of encouraging people to combine their efforts, their talents, their insights, their enthusiasm and their inspiration to work together”.
So, when you have a drink of tea on National Tea Day, don’t forget to raise your mug/teapot/cup and give a little toast! Oh, and share your photos with us at QBC - we want to see who’s celebrating this year! #HappyBirthdayQE2 #TeamQBC #NationalTeaDay.
