The beginning of summer is exciting, even more so because of new venues and trips out! Richard and Bruce have been many places recently, here are a few exciting trips they have made and spoken to us about:
“The sun shone brightly for the Ossett Brewery Festival over the Bank Holiday. The stage was occupied with several great bands and acoustic performers as the different beers on tap flowed. Ossett were showing off their cracking new brewery extension enabling them to produce much higher volumes and cope with higher demand. Great to see a local company going from strength to strength; we cannot wait for the next festival. It was also great to see some of QBCs artwork across the beer pumps and delivery vans. We are very proud of this relationship. Onwards and upwards!”
“We had a great catch up with the two Freddies from the Swedish Cider Company who flew into the UK to support the launch of their new Cider “Skal”, which launched exclusively in 200 Greene King Pubs across the UK. They toured around 40 pubs throughout London, offering up on-going support and taking general feedback from venue managers. The launch went very well with stock running low already! The consensus was that the Swedish Cider Company should develop more flavours! Fun fact: Skal is Swedish for Cheers.”
“QBC is very proud to have come up with the brand concept - Antler, an alpine-themed leisure venue. Work is under way for something new and exciting sitting at the top of Newcastle, at the former Fat Buddha site. The development – which will see the creation of a year-round outside garden and seating in ski gondolas – will also be offering an extensive programme of entertainment while also maintaining its Asian roots which an oriental restaurant on the upper level!
It is a pleasure working with the driving force of the new brand - Gary Hutchinson. Gary is highly focused and looking to deliver something really exceptional for the city of Newcastle. The refit is well under way hidden by the QBC branded banners. We wait with bated breath for the launch in June. This is going to be something really special.”
“While out on tour this week we drove into Durham to have a look at the newly refurbished Head of Steam. Set back in a courtyard just off the high street and overlooked by the addition of the new balcony area, in terms of “beer” this is a force to be reckoned with! They have an amazing array of beers from around the world with large fridges dedicated to Belgium, USA and UK craft beers. The diversity is amazing as is the branding. The craft selection is hand-picked by long standing HOS manager Nicola and her team and their love and knowledge of their products is plain to see. From the second we entered we were met with a lovely, warm greeting and a great willingness of the staff to talk through their range of beers. This level of service is so rare, and we can say without any shadow of a doubt that it works as we ended up buying £50 worth of craft beers to take away. This brand is exceptional and it’s great to see it making its way across the UK. The best of luck to the team at Camerons Brewery on their delivery of another fabulous venue!”
