No, it’s nothing bad, we promise. QBC is an ever-expanding company and we have really noticed this over the last month. We think it’s about time we tell you what’s been happening.
One of the biggest changes has been to the studio itself. Gone are the poster covered, whitewash walls. We thought it was the right time to get a little more creative with our creative space. We’ve got quotes, we’ve got stick men, we’ve even got a bit of yellow splashed around the room. The desks have been wrapped and updated: the space is altogether much airier and inviting for the team.
As most people know, this time of year is when the fun stuff gets started – Halloween, Christmas, it’s all coming! When it gets busy for you, it gets busy for us and we’re very excited to say we’ve hired three new members of staff (just at the nick of time!) So, everyone, meet Sarah, Laura and Isaac.
Firstly, we have Sarah.
Sarah joined QBC in August. She is currently studying for a Level 3 apprenticeship in IT at Kirklees College, Huddersfield and works as part of the team on some very varied clients; she has created work for Taylors of Inverness, alongside gardening and golf related design.
When not at work, Sarah is a ‘cake lady’ and spends a lot of her time trying new recipes. She also spends a lot of her time visiting the cinema.
Who’s next? It’s Angus.
Angus is also doing an Apprenticeship at Kirklees College, studying Graphics Design. He joined the QBC team at the beginning of September, and has thrown himself creatively into nightclub design – one of his main projects at the moment is the creative for one of our national clients, Kooky bars.
Outside of work, you’ll find Angus in the stands of the John Smith Stadium supporting the newly promoted Huddersfield Town. He’s also learning to drive, and so spends a lot of his time on the road.
Finally, there’s Laura.
Laura is an Events Management Student at the University of Huddersfield, and is the Social Media Manager for QBC as her student placement year (a year in industry, half way through the degree). While coordinating a digital marketing plan for QBC, Laura is venturing into the world of clients – something which you will hear about very soon,
When she’s not working, Laura spends a lot of her time travelling. Before university she spent a couple of years around North America, and looks to expand her travels as much as possible. She also loves a good tv marathon, and is impartial to a good book.
And there we have it, these are the newest faces of the QBC team – welcome to the studio!
